I’m absolutely ecstatic to announce that the NEW Glass Apple Bonzai album “In the Dark” is NOW available digitally and for pre-order.
Click on the above image to go to the Storming the Base webstore and lock yourself in for awesomeness.
And here it is…a brand NEW Glass Apple Bonzai song called “Wicked Fire (Jazzi’s Theme)”.
This is a unique version of the song available exclusively on the Synth Love Affair Vol. 1 compilation put together by Marko Maric and released through Future 80’s.
Marko approached me to write a song as a gift for his fiancee Jazzi for her birthday.
Naturally, I did the best job I could.
A slightly different version will appear on “In the Dark”
Last night I was the recipient of two awards at the 2015 Niagara Music Awards.
The Engineer of the Year award and the Album of the Year award.
I’m absolutely honoured and elated to have won in two categories that I feel are based entirely on merit and skill.
I pride myself in my recording quality and technique and to have those attributes recognised is a wonderful feeling.
Winning the Engineer of the Year award alone would have left me feeling very proud and satisfied…
Winning Album of the Year absolutely blew me away.
A total surprise.
Not that I don’t recognise my skill as a songwriter, but I am aware that the type of music I make isn’t necessarily the most popular or understood.
Synthpop is kind of a strange grey-area.
So to have the entire album recognised and given accolade was a very proud moment for me.
To be honest, I’m still reeling from it.
Awards aren’t everything, but they ARE something.
And winning these awards is a very big something.
So let me take the time to thank everyone who helped make Night Maze (the album that won) the amazing thing it is.
Jessie Deye, Lex Gore, Sheenah Ko, and Matty DiFranco for contributing their flavourful backing vocals.
The inimitable Paul Sizer for the absolutely amazing artwork.
Martin Bowes for his perfect mastering job.
And of course….Steve.
Steve’s sax solo really is the icing on the cake. Not to mention the unending support from him and his awesome on-stage antics.
Cheers, triple Cheers to all of you.

So, Aftermath Festival happened in Toronto last weekend and holy shit was it amazing.
The debut Glass Apple Bonzai performance went off like wildfire!
I’ll leave a full description of that for a later date when there’s video to go along with it.
Right now I’m announcing that not only are there CD copies of the debut full-length Glass Apple Bonzai album available through bandcamp,
there are a limited quantity of T-shirts available as well.
They were printed especially for Aftermath Festival, and these ones are slightly irregular only in that the print quality is a bit rough.
But that by no means affects the ability to wear them around and look totally retro-awesome!
“My Alliance (to Science!)” is a track I wrote and recorded for the Kinetik Festival compilation, which is sadly no longer happening.
Because I can’t let a good song go to waste I decided to release it as a single, complete with a traditional 12″ extended mix, via Bandcamp.
It’s a rather large sounding, brooding song with a slightly aggressive feeling to it, but still catchy.
Check it out here!
A while back I was asked by my friends in Atomzero to remix their song “MisDirection” for single release.
How could I say No?
Check out the remix here and be sure to check out the rest of the single!
